The temples of Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh are the major tourist attraction in India after Taj Mahal. The rulers of the Chandela dynasty between 950 and 1050 AD built them in Indo-Aryan Architecture. The stone sculptures in temples show the many aspects of Indian life 1000 years ago – gods and goddesses, warriors and musicians, real and mythological animals. However, two elements appear repeatedly and in detail than anything else – women and sex. Stone figures of apsaras (celestial maidens) appear on every temple. All these erotic figures show the positions and possibilities of Kama Sutra.

Temples of Khajuraho are divided into three groups: Western Group of Temples, Eastern Group of Temples, Southern Group of Temples.

The word Orchha means 'hidden'. Located on banks of the river Betwa, it used to be the capital of the region (Bundelkhand) but now is a small village. Of the succeeding rulers, the most notable was Raja Bir Singh Ju Deo who built the beautiful Jehangir Mahal, a tiered palace crowned by graceful chhatries.

Bandhavgarh National Park is spread at vindhya hills in Madhya Pradesh. Bandhavgarh National Park consists of a core area of 105 sq km and a buffer area of approximately 400 sq km of topography varies between steep ridges, undulating, forest and open meadows. Bandhavgarh National Park is known for the Royal Bengal Tigers. The density of the Tiger population at Bandhavgarh is the highest known in India.

The park was a former hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa where once Maharajah Venkat Raman Singh made his illustrious career out of hunting 111 tigers. The vegetation found within the Park is clammy deciduous forest with fine Sal trees and stretches of bamboo.

At 76 miles (122 km) south of Agra is situated the city of Gwalior in the state of Madhya Pradesh. With a strong historical backdrop, Gwalior is deeply associated with romance and charm.

Gwalior is a city with a dramatic, colorful history, its foundation due to the warrior Suraj Sen being cured of leprosy by the hermit, Gwalipa, who lived on the hilltop where the fort stands. The walls of the fort contain almost the entire hilltop, some 3km by 1km, and there are many buildings within - the Mansingh Palace with its unusual decoration of blue ducks, the delightful Mother-in-law (Sasbahu) and Daughter-in law temples, among other temples and palaces - as well as some impressive (but sadly mutilated) Jain sculptures in the rock on the approach road. The Jai Vilas Palace in the city contains some unusual and interesting items, including Belgian chandeliers a cut glass balustrades on the stairs, and a silver model railway which carried condiments, etc. around the large dinner table.
