The hotel sits high on the cliffs and offers a magnificent view
over the Arabian Sea and the mouth of the river Tiracol. The former
fortress from the 18th Century is accessible only by ferry or over
a serpentine (mountain) road, and therefore rarely visited by
tourists.
Thick fortress walls with watchtowers at the corners surround the
building; a steep path leads down to a courtyard, which lies almost
at sea level. Here, guests have the opportunity to observe during a
morning cup of tea, the goings-on of the dolphins.
Behind the massive structure hides away a courtyard, in whose midst
stands a small chapel.
The hotel has a total of five rooms and two suites, all furnished
with simple wooden and marble furniture. A few selected objects -
big iron chandeliers, antique glass bottles - top off the overall
picture. The bathrooms are outfitted with black laterite floor and
walls are white tiled or painted. Each of the spacious double room
has a breathtaking view of the sea.
Dinner is served on a spacious terrace, the breakfast room and bar
are situated a few steps upside. There are regional cuisines, from
the freshest ingredients. The nearest airport is Dabolim and it
will take around 1 hour and 40 minutes to reach the hotel from the
airport. |
